ARRIVAL AND TRANSPORTATION
Turkish Airlines and all other major airlines connect Istanbul to other major cities around the world with frequent direct flights. Istanbul has two international airports, but almost all our participants are expected to arrive at the Ataturk International Airport.
Ataturk International Airport is 23 km. to Taksim Square, the city center. There are scheduled airport buses (HAVAS) every half hour and they cost about $3 per person. Taxies, all of which are yellow and metered in Istanbul, pick the customers form the cue, with no waiting at all, right in front of the arrival floor's exit gates. A taxi ride to the conference hotels or to the Bogazici University should cost less than $10 (and takes between 13 to 33 minutes depending on the traffic and your destination).
The participants will be met by the conference assistants at the airport during certain time periods on June 21, Saturday and June 22, Sunday, and will be escorted to the airport buses, taxies, or to the conference shuttle, if available.
